z power
Hi All. I am wanting to add some of the great contributions to my out dated web site. Does it matter what version I have or am I limited due to it's age/version? How do I tell what version I have? It went live in July 2004. I would appreciate any feed back. Jack_mcs
Check the VERSION in includes/application_top.php. As long as you have an MS2 version, you should be able to install the majority of the contributions. z power
Did you try searching the file for VERSION? Jack Hi Jack no I haven't. I have no idea about PHP/osc etc. I normally would have someone else do my back end work but reliability has become an issue. I just wanted to get some basic info so I can get quotes etc from the experts. I want to be able to say well I have this version of osc and these are the cons I am able to use. Or they may say you can't load these cons on your version of osc and it would be more feasible to build a new site with all these features as standard apps. I had a look today at the back end for the 1st time but I was a bit concerned about breaking something. How do I do a search for Version? Ctrl+F??? Once again i appreciate any help. z power
Once you have found out what version you are running, you should do the updates to osc. The latest version is available at http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads Ok great. This is what I have osCommerce 2.2-MS2 PHP Version 4.4.0 So this is the latest version? Which means I won't be restricted as far as uploading cons? Right??? If so that's great and thanks Jack and Coopco. Regards Alan Everythings Just Great! Jack_mcs
It doesn't necessairly mean it is the latest version. The latest oscommerce updates did not change the version number. So you may or may not have the latest version. But the majority of contributions will work with MS2 so that part is OK.
