Help with adding options for an item

Hello all. I am new to the forum, and new to osCommerce. I have been playing around with it for a while, and seem to be picking it up pretty well. I am planning on getting a book at some point to help me learn it even better. For now I was wondering if someone could help me, or guide me to a free online document that could help me.

 

I am looking to be able to add an item for sale and have multiple options for the item. For example, I want to sell clothing and have for options, colors, size and some other options. I do embroidery so I want to be able to have a seperate location of all the available logos. Is there a way to have like a list of logos, and then be able to click on a drop down menu and have it view all the logos available?

You can have the dropdown with the list of logos using the products attributes code built into your shop. However, that is meant for adjusting the cost of the product. To have a list of items that link to some display page will require additional coding. Or, possibly adding an additional image contribution, like MorePics, would work?

Thank you, you got me headed in the right direction. Now that I have things moving, I came into another question. Say for example a logo design I do is $10, but if they order 10 shirts, the logo charge is $8.50. Is there a way for the program to figure this out?

I have another question. Is there a way that I can add 30 logos or so and have them available in a drop down menu for each product, without having to individually add the option to each piece of clothing? Also can you add a photo to each logo somehow?

The answer to your first question is to install the Price Break contribution.

 

For the second, you can add all of the attributes that you want. As I already mentioned though, you can't add images to them. If you want to have 30 images on each product page, you will need to install Dynamic MoPics.
