MSQL error on install

I uploaded the Catalog database to server then using my browser try and install.

A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.I keep getting the following error ..groan Tried adding another version 5 Mysql database cos i saw some errors on 4.01 but still no joy <_<

 

The error message returned is:

 

Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company.

 

Any ideas..help much appreciated .. Thanks Colin

Thanks changed the coding as in google --- SET Password = OLD_PASSWORD('newpwd')

 

Now I connect but get an error that " SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql" hmmm maybe need to upload Catalog again. Will check on server first though .

Another common problem. This one due to windows and IIS. See:

well i see the oscommerce.sql file hmmm .
