Guest Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Hello All I've inherited a site that currently has a combined shipping/billing address, which causes problems when users want delivery to a different address. As this is my first osCommerce site I'm don't know if this is part of the default functionality or if I need a contrib. I couldn't find a contrib which makes me think that it may be part of default and was removed by previous admin. Here's a link to the site so you can see what I the current situation is www.fasteronline.co.uk. All help is most appreciated. Thanks Paul
Guest Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 goto your osc admin->Configuration->Maximum Values->Address Book Entries. See if that value is set to 1. If it is change it to a different value. (stock osc uses 5). That should allow customers to setup different addresses for payment/shipping

Thing is the user can setup up to 5 addresses on my build but osCommerce treats all these addresses as joint billing/delivery addresses, there is no separation So the problem is that they cannot stipulate a separate billing and delivery address. Basically the delivery address is sent to ProTX so if this differs from the address on their credit card the transaction gets declined. Anyone know how to separate the billing and shipping addresses? Cheers Paul

Cheers Paul I don't know how protx operates with the info passed. Normally if the shipping address is different than the billing address and not registered with the cc company the transaction must be declined. The gateway/banks suppose to validate this, but I don't know if it's really happening. You could change the payment module to sent the billing address as the shipping address to get around it. But you will risk processing fraudulent transactions. Perhaps a better way would be to setup an extra field for the payment gateway to store the cc issuer's phone number. So you can call to identify if the cc & shipping address are legit.
Guest Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Hello Enigma1 (all) Sorry been away, hence the slow reply. We're not wanting to pass an incorrect address to the cc processor but to pass the correct billing address and deliver to a separate billing address, just like Amazon and other shops. On the build of osCommerce I inherited this isn't possible, any idea how? Cheers Paul
