spillon
Hey I was just wondering if it was possible to upload all files from the Milestone so that I could edit everything including admin tools in Dreamweaver? I want to be able to edit my page before it is put online and so do not want to upload my files to ftp yet. I also want to be able to view my entire site, admin tools and all before putting it online or uploading it anywhere.

Dreamweaver won't do it, WAMP will. Google it.
bill110
Dreamweaver will let you view the code and edit the code, view directory structure etc. It will not let you use see results like with html. wamp, xammp, easyphp, are the servers, php, mysql databases you need to view and setup. or you can download apache server, php, and mysql seperatley. all of the above are free. I agree with the two posts above but would like to point out that you will still need to "install" osCommerce within that "test" setup (xammp, wamp, etc) in order to view the actions of the scripts. Otherwise, you will only be able to edit the code but you would not see any of the results. After hours of trying to get the page displayed in dreamweaver or in 'Preview in Browser' I just read your message and am astonished. Dreamweaver displays the code but only displays blank pages in the 'Design' view or in browser preview. I though I must have set something up wrong with the testing server. I had a hard time understanding that only the code and file structure is displayed in dreamweaver and no pages like in HTML. Is that correct and I am wasting my time?? I am doing this for the first time so it is very frustrating because I can't edit the code without previewing it.
Guest
Depending on your DW version and your osC version these are useful http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/4104 For osC 2.2 sites using BTS and http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2668 For osC 2.2 and DW (up to DW8) I don't think they will help if you are using an RC version of osC. You could easily use DW and see your design in WYSIWYG mode if you have STS (Simple Template System) installed. This is probably the easiest route if you prefer to code in "design" mode, meaning you like to view the page not the code when you are designing. Does this still mean that you would have to install MySQL and the other stuff on local machine, orr would it be sufficient to just download a bck-up of the site? Thanks.
