abra123cadabra
Nice design. I like the colours but it's way too low on contrast. Makes you search for the light switch. Definitely nothing to get lots of sales. After a few seconds my eyes already hurt. I'll not look any further. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. abra123cadabra
I didn't go through to the checkout and I would recommend to tackle the colour/contrast first as this will drive a lot of potential customers away. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Guest
Yeah, thats not going to happen. As the colours and layout of the site is branded across all my sites. And colour plays a miniscule role in a customers decision on whether or not they buy from the site. As a majority of customers never purchase anything the frist time they visit a site. It will always boil down to to customer service, convinence and product.
abra123cadabra
Interesting approach. I would expect customers only to come back if they can't find the product anywhere else and they really want to buy it. There are a few cases where the design and layout seem to be the main focus - not the users experience and overall the usability/readability of a site. What good is it if I can hardly read the text on site (due to very low contrast or tiny fonts)? What I really like is the idea of the two-coloured headers. Good luck with your site! abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. ChrisW123
I would agree that the colors are annoying. You may think that it won't hurt sales but it will in my opinion. If people are not "comfortable" looking at your site they will simply leave sooner then they otherwise would. I understand the branding of the colors, etc., so you could try this which would keep them basically the same but give more contrast: 1) Make all of the yellow text a couple levels brighter. Same color, just a couple shades brighter. Very simple. Your logos may take more work or you might just leave them as is. 2) Make the background color of the browser (not the webpage) almost completely black (several shades darker). This will make your page much nicer to look at because it will stand out from the browser background which is currently the same color.
Guest
Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the colour are not changing like I said before. However right now I asked if the functionality of the site could be tested not wheather or not my choice in colours will affect sales. Time will tell if it needs to be changed in the future. I have some night-club xp and my opinion about the colors is that they're good for the current collection and the type of customers your store may attract. Some text strings come close to the background maybe you could emphasize those and that should be sufficient.
