Error Warning

Hi....

Please anyone....

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/domain/public_html/commerce/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I had to re upload some files that I had messed up trying to configure...

I am sure they are all uploaded ...All seems ok but for the Warning....

Can I do something to remedy this ??

It says fix the Warnings before continuing....

Is there any writing somewhere with this as a problem ??

You need to change the permissions on the includes/configure.php. Change them to 444 or 400.

Thanx Jack,

But seems that when I change permission to whatever it changes back or to wherever....

it's a windows server and that file had only read rights fo all and user write...should it be

read only for me , group ,and *** ?

Well I did not see any Permission Incorrect in the files in "includes" folder....they all have read... write permission for admin only....So I went into the application_top.php and disabled that alarm.....

Is this a normal thing to do?

Can anyone share some knowlege weather I should or shouldn't have shut off the alarm ...

I don't have a clue why this changed ..the only other alarm I had was the php on when I set it up...

I took care of that one with some help...

Any one please ???

I don't do Windows ;) so I can't help you with setting the permissions. Disabling the code is almost certainly a mistake though. I would change the code back and then ask your host how to get rid of the warning. Any decent host should help with that.

Thanx Jack,

Found it easier at this earlier stage of the game to reInstall a new copy...

I hope it works out better this way ...

Later...

Jack
