Catalog very very slow

Recommended Posts

I don't know why but all of a sudden my Catalog won't load like it should. Sometimes it won't load at all and sometimes it will eventually load after about 5 minutes.

I'm only selling around 150 products but like I said, I've had no problems whatsoever until now and I haven't made any changes to make it do this either.

Could this be a host problem? I'm not sure myself because the Admin section works fine - it's just the Catalog.

Any suggestions?

You say you've added and changed nothing? are you sure?

Ahh you have off site images .. dump them first.

I bet that's the problem .. your site can only load as fast as the slowest site you are image linking to.

Your site only loads as far as ..

<!-- reviews //-->
	  <tr>
		<td>
<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
 <tr>
<td height="14" class="infoBoxHeading"><img src="images/infobox/corner_right_left.gif" border="0" alt="" width="11" height="14"></td>
<td width="100%" height="14" class="infoBoxHeading">Reviews</td>
<td height="14" class="infoBoxHeading" nowrap><a href="http://www.watchit247.co.uk/catalog/reviews.php"><img src="images/infobox/arrow_right.gif" border="0" alt="more" title=" more " width="12" height="10"></a><img src="images/pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="11" height="14"></td>
 </tr>

</table>

Then it dies so the real problem is below this code.

But sometimes it loads the entire page.

Yes well sometimes the site you are image linking to may work .. sometimes it may not.

Take my advice .. as an initial test temporarily kill the offsite images.

Well it's not the external image links. I'm baffled.

Before you do any changes on your site you need to do BACKUP! BACKUP!

Nope, it's not that.

Just found out that my host's MySQL is running slow. Will that be it do you think?
