gdanko Posted May 10, 2007 Share Posted May 10, 2007 I have read the documents in the knowledge base for upgrading from an old version to a new version but they're somewhat vague so I am going to ask the community for a little more insight. First, the document says If you are upgrading from ms1 to ms2 code, you will need to update the PHP files and move the data from the old database to the new database. What is ms1/ms2? How do I tell if this is what I have? The version I have is "2.2-CVS". I know it's a little older because the admin directory is outside of the catalog directory. The concept of creating a new directory, copying the new osC files over, and migrating the database make sense. So let's say my shop is in /data/vhosts/shop and I copy the latest osC files to /data/vhosts/newshop. I will make a copy of my database and upgrade it using upgrade scripts so now I have a bare shop with an upgraded database in /data/vhosts/newshop. But all of my images, add-on modules and all that reside in the old directory /data/vhosts/shop. The knowledge base article does not tell me how to merge the old images and whatnot into the new version of the code. Can someone help me here? Thanks!
