Getting an error as mentioned below, once trying to run the oscommerce

 

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

 

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

 

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

 

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

 

 

 

even after changing the register_globals ON in php.ini or .htaccess

That could be many things. The best way to approach it is to ask your host to look at it. A good one will. If they won't, then you have to try to isoalte the problem down to the file that is causing it.

The first thing you have to do is change the settings of your browser to remove the friendly error messages like the above

Only then will you understand whats going on, likewise for your host (as im sure Jack knows).

In internet explorer its something like tools>Options>Advanced Options> then deselecting the "show user friendly error messages" box or similar.

PS this is neither a tlp nor a trick (ie something that will help someone else) so I think you would be better off asking in the right forum, general help or similar.

Most problems can be solved in a few minutes searching using the advanced search and reading the help instructions or via google for what its worth.
