luddite_jean
If you go into Admin>Catalog>Categories/Products you can change the sort order in the edit, so set your New Products to 1, then the others to 2, 3, 4 etc. -Jean.

Guest
I am very sure you can sort the columns by products_date_added (in the products table). You will have to change the 'order by' call in index.php but its fairly simple :-) this only does the categories, i may have mistyped what i meant. i want the new products inside the categories to appear at the top. for example in the beds categories i want the newest bed to be at the top. there was no sort order field in the actual product, only in the category. Guest
in the index.php file, search for 'order by' and you will find the value there to replace with date_added. I am pretty sure this will work, but I havent tested it. can you tell me how please? i cant seem to figure it out...btw i am using STS contribution
