ian_m
I have just installed oscomerce and then installed paypal from under the payment module section. I then gave it a test and it appeared to work, I have never set oscommerce up as a shop before I wondered if this is all I have to do. I seem to remember about 2 years ago setting this up as a test and I needed to install some paypal module and something called an IPN so I wonder if this is now all intergrated in the program. Can someone confirm if theres anything else required this it all seems to easy to be true DOnt know if it makes any differance the site is for the UK Regards Ian
Guest
it's usually the only thing, but sometimes you may have to go into your account page in Paypal and modify the settings there. Did you install Paypal_ipn module? If so, the install instructions explains the modifications you have to make in the account page. OK i had not installed the ipn but I have now, hopefully it is this one you are refering to osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 PayPal IPN Payment Module v1.1 I now have the new payment method called PayPal (Credit Card / Debit) and have removed the other default payment methods and all appears to pass me on to the paypal page a treat, things are still going to easy to be true, the only little bug I have not looked into is it adds on £5 for shipping, but I guess theres is a setting for this somewhere. If anyone can see anything that I am missing let me know all seems to being going to well. Cheers Ian
Guest
yes, this is what I am referring to :-) As for the shipping, I think this is in the paypal account page. Lastly, have confidence in yourself when things work well! They can work, as you're proving yourself now :-) OK i had not installed the ipn but I have now, hopefully it is this one you are refering to osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 PayPal IPN Payment Module v1.1 I now have the new payment method called PayPal (Credit Card / Debit) and have removed the other default payment methods and all appears to pass me on to the paypal page a treat, things are still going to easy to be true, the only little bug I have not looked into is it adds on £5 for shipping, but I guess theres is a setting for this somewhere. Anyway I guess that is another topic will post that elsewhere after givnig that some thought. Thanks again for the support Ian
