Guest Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 I'm trying to figure out how to do shipping. Here's the scenario: We're selling calendars. The supplier ships them USPS but charges a flat rate of $3.00 for 1-3 calendars, then $4.00 for 4-6 and $6.00 for up to 10. He's set on that shipping method. This is only for US shipping. Anybody have any idea how to set this up? Thanks Josef :(
Going_Digital Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 Use the standard shipping module where you can set shipping cost by order value or wight. So you could set the value as .1kg for each calender and then set shipping up to .3kg as $3 etc
Guest Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 My only concern was the few customers that order from overseas. Is there a way to use your method only for US customers, than for all others use a different rate?
Guest Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Use the zone based shipping module. You can use 1 zone for US and then another zone for all of the other different countries you want to ship to. So say US is zone 1, you can set a shipping rate per kg for everyone ordering from within the US. Zone 2 would be all of the other countries you ship to, and you can set a different rate per kg for all of these people. It is possible to set up literally as many zones as you want. If you have a look in the tep-docs/documentation you would have downloaded with oscommerce, you will find a very good walk through on how to set up zone based shipping. You need to edit one file to let the zones module know how many zones you want, and then set up the zone countries/rates within the admin, it really is very easy to use.
bkng Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 But where do you find the rates within the admin?????????
