lynette54uk
Is there anyone out there willing to devote the next 6 weeks exclusively to helping me? No? Okay then, how about explaining what all those 'values' and things mean? I have absolutely no idea what to do; I used to think I was quite intelligent but this has got me stumped. All I want to do is set up a simple shop to sell my wares but I don't understand all the numbers and stuff, I thought it was meant to be easy! Please help me, regards Lynette
spax
Can you be a little more specific? What don't you understand?
psynaptic
It's easy if you have the time to invest. You might be better off talking to a professional if you need a site setup quickly without having to spend a few months learning how to create the required standard of site. If you are looking for such professionals please see my profile for a link to my website. Other than that you will find the forums a wonderful resource. A key trick is to use Google's site command so search Google using something like so: site:oscommerce.com image thumbnails This will save you a lot of time tracking down previous users' problem and the answers they received. To create a successful ecommerce site using osCommerce you need to know a bit of PHP programming to fully integrate all the contributions needed and to create whatever extra functionality you will no doubt require. I would suggest reading the documentation first of all to get yourself familiar with the way osCommerce is setup. There is a lot of helpful info in the knowledge base. You should explore the whole osCommerce website to see what useful info you can find. There are also a couple of books which would help enormously for someone in your position. The one called Deep Inside osCommerce looks pretty good. At the end of the day, if you decide to go it alone then you need to tackle your problems as they come. When you reach a hurdle do a search of the osCommerce site. This will invariably provide the answer you're looking for, if not provide some inspiration to work it out yourself. Good luck with your osCommerce website. I wish you all the best.
