Keep Image Proportions 1.0 - help

Hi I have been looking for a way to keep image proportions and came across the Keep Image Proportions 1.0 contribution, but after I installed it all i get is the following errors

 

Parse error: parse error in /home/name/public_html/catalog/includes/functions/html_output.php on line 291

 

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: tep_image() in /home/name/public_html/catalog/includes/header.php on line 54

 

OsC 2.2 - not sure what snapshot version.

 

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this or another way to keep image proportions without havng to add white space to images or resixe images manually?

admin > my store > images:

 

set either height or width to zero (but not both). Images are now in proportion.

 

This works for me on my particular snapshot which is admittedly from back in July...
