MMMMMMmmmmmmm. I've done a write protect in CHMOD. That didn't work. What d'ya think! :?

Yeah I set them both to R--R--R-- (read only to all-444).???

hmm.. strange one

i think you have to leave the owner set to execute tho...

that is strange. You definatly changed the configure.php .. not configuration.php

Wanna know something even weirder--- I went back to have a look and they had reset the user to "write" - so I changed them again and they reset again :o . If I refresh the FTP pro page just to check it resets before my very eyes. How do I make this naughty thing stay - I believe my settings should be r-x-r--r-- huh! Coz it wants to be rw-r--r--. Bizarre.

Im really not sure Ken. Have you TELNET access to your server ? Try using a different FTP program ? LeechFTP for example. Its free.

While I download leech - Whats telnet? (I'm kinda real new at this thing!)

Now I got ya! - It still doing it with Leech FTP also. I checked the directory: /includes/ and it is set to write by user - so that isn't overiding it???? Its got me.

TELNET is basically logging into your server directly. Open a DOS window, type TELNET

Use the OPEN <yourservername> to connect.

If you havent used it before, then I wouldnt recommend it as you could potentially do harm. (delete files etc)

Try the other FTP prog first

Its possible to config the server so that files need to be readable automatically.

Set chmod 644, and that should be OK.

They are both set to 644 and I still have the error message????? Besides I can't change them even if I wanted to?

Yep. Its 11.00 pm at night here so I will try in the morning. Thanks
