I recommend this one. V 1.3 by Chemo works. The others may but I haven't tried them.

what does that do for you ? does it crawl the site and update the sitemap automatically? is there a generator that will update the sitemap automatically when i add a new page to the site?

That's what it does. Very easy to set up and highly recommended.

the links of the generated sitemap should match the links of your site. So you do not install anything, till you identify if you're using an SEO module and which one. Then you install the appropriate one.

 

So it is not recommended to have the sitemap links like:

http://demo.oscommerce.com/product_info.php?products_id=7

 

while your site exposes links like

http://demo.oscommerce.com/youve-got-mail-p-7.html

 

or

http://demo.oscommerce.com/you-ve-got-mail.htm

 

..etc. Better pick one that matches your links or write the code for it.
