Jason
Hi, I just got news from PayPal that the GBP and EUR currency mc_currency variable now functions... ANyone out there looking to update the PayPal IPN for this? Looking at it, it seems to me that the URL on checkout_paypalipn.php neesds to haver a few variables added, and the system should convert to the default currency if the currency is not USD, GBP or EUR. I believe the fields for mc_currency etc exist already in the module... By the way, great module. Thanks. Just one more thing. How do I test it? I can't send myself money... is there a test feature at PayPal? Thanks

pbreit
You can test with amounts as small as 0.01 For larger amounts, refunds can be processed which credit back all fees resulting in cost-less testing. Guest
Hi Jason I just got news from PayPal that the GBP and EUR currency mc_currency variable now functions... Yes, but that multiple_currencies feature only works for the SEND and RECEIVE MONEY service of the PayPal website. It is still not working for web_accept. ANyone out there looking to update the PayPal IPN for this? Yes, me :P But until it is not for web_accept I think there is nothing I can do. Just one more thing. How do I test it? I can't send myself money... is there a test feature at PayPal? You can create a new Personal Account on Paypal (you will need a different credit card) and after the tests you will be able to refund the money to your account. Jason
Hi Pablo, Thanks for the reply, I am afraid I added this same comment to the other thread going on. My apologies for that - I hadn't seen this reply. I obviously misunderstood the email PayPal sent me... But then they never are VERY clear. Here is an extract: Make sure buyers know you accept Euro payments Add a PayPal Euro logo to your listings, so buyers know that they can use their PayPal account to pay you quickly in Euros! To add a Euro logo to your auctions, log in to your account and click on the "Manual Logos" link on the Sell tab. Just copy and paste the HTML code for the Euro logo into the Item Description section of all your listings. Don't wait -- open a Euro balance and add a PayPal Euro logo to your listings now! I'll keep an eye out for your next opus :D

Jason
Thanks Pablo. The only doubt was that I didn't test it as thoroughly as I might have due to a lack of time ! Jason
johnglobal
Patrick, do you know if Paypal have plans to make this service available in the rest of Europe e.g Ireland I know you can open an account but not with an Irish Bank account ? Thanks John
Jason
Hi John, We opened one using a French credit card. But before being able to accept payments, we had to confirm the account with the number that appeared on our credit card statement - so that took over a month to finish :( Good luck
