Review My New Site

Recommended Posts

First off, have a look at your site with different browsers... I'm using Firefox and it's badly broken.

Second, you offer free shipping on orders over 200 $. Most of your items are priced at 15 to 25 $ and I would guess the average order amount would be 25 to 50 $. Lower your free shipping offer to 50 $ to entice customers to buy two instead of only one item (which is the amount I would buy). Otherwise this offer is useless to your visitors.

You definitely need a SSL certificate. You might as well check your prices. The shop colours and design together with your prices makes your products look cheap to me. Maybe raise the prices?

Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome.

Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.

I appreciate your honest feedback and that's exactly what I am looking for.

I will look at the FireFox problems and will take your advice on lowering the shipping limit.

As far as the SSL Certificate is concerned, can you give me more insight/direction on what should I do to set up my web site with that feature?

Thanks again...

Easiest way is to contact your hosting company. Mine had a special offer to purchase and install the certificate. It was very affordable and done within a few hours. I have my site setup to redirect mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com and the purchased SSL certificate is made out for www.mydomain.com. Like this I didn't have to copy any files in another directory and all subfolders can be accessed using https://
