Checkout_Success.php does not appear

Hello,

I have spent several hours reading through these forums (and Google searches) in hopes of resolving this issue on my own but I have only been able to find one person who had posted previously about this issue several weeks ago and there were no responses in their thread. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated, I can't imagine no one has ever run into this issue and not been able to resolve it, but perhaps that's the case.

The problem is that when you go through checkout on my site and click the confirm button on the very last page (checkout_confirmation.php), instead of being taken to checkout_success.php which is the page that says "Thank you, yada yada", customers are simply taken to my web sites index page. I became aware of this last week when a customer called and reported the problem. This has not always been the case because each time something is changed on the site I always do a test purchase to make sure I can complete an order. In the past, checkout_success.php has appeared okay. Now it is not. The most recent update to the site was a new PayPal IPN last fall, and I could swear I did a test order after that, but perhaps I did not and that is what caused this?

I have gone back and taken the IPN out by reverting to bak files of all the files that were changed when I did the IPN installation, but that did not resolve it. I thought I wittled it down to a problem with checkout_process.php since that is the file that calls up FILE_CHECKOUT_SUCCESS, but then I did a brand new oscommerce installation for testing on another domain I have and compared the 2 versions of the file. There were some minor differences, so I just uploaded the checkout_success and checkout_confirmation files from the new installation up to my current product web site. But this issue still exists. Maybe it has something to do with a class?

I really am at wits end. It is not a terrible problem that is costing me business, but it is unprofessional to have the buyer not get any type of indication from the web site that their order has been completed so I am hoping to resolve this. I should note that the orders go through fine and buyers do get a confirmation email, they just don't get any confirmation of their order after clicking the confirm button, so I imagine in many cases the buyers are probably wondering if their orders have gone through. Has any one ever experienced this issue before or does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem, and have been doing preety much what you're doing and having zero luck. I have also posted here on this today, if I get a fix on it I'll pass it on. good luck

Maybe post your checkout_process.php file

Thanks for the response. I can post the checkout_process.php file as a few lines are different from the default file installed, however I did replace it with a checkout_process.php file from a clean install on another domain, to no avail. Here is the file though (note the only difference from this and a default was the part about AuctionBlox which came from an addon install- I have tried removing that text to no avail as well):

There is also cvv and pwa installed, but they look ok.

It is definitely a coding issue and not related to a change on the server I beleive, because this site was just moved over to a brand new server at a different data center today, and the site runs fine except for this same issue with the checkout_success.php not showing.

Hello. Thanks for your help. Here is the checkout_confirmation.php.

It is definitely a coding issue and not related to a change on the server I beleive, because this site was just moved over to a brand new server at a different data center today, and the site runs fine except for this same issue with the checkout_success.php not showing.

That looks ok. The only differences wer the auction lox that replaces shipping and the code at the end

One of the first things I did unfortunately was revert to the backups that took all of that super_shipping and auction blox stuff out. Unfortunately that didn't work.

Out of curiosity, which payment module does this happen on?

this happens with the credit card payment. I have not done a test order with the PayPal module, though when people use PayPal I know they do not get an email confirmation of their order, so there is a separate problem there but we have not been able to fix that so have just been sending manual confirmations for PayPal payment, as they also get a confirmation from PayPal.

What I am also trying to figure out is why it goes back to the index page after the process completes. Something must be directing the web browser back to the index page. Does anyone know if there is a way to just edit the code and forget about checkout_success and just have users go to a new html page I create or something, someway to let buyers know their order was processed?

Which code were you looking for? To enable credit card payments we just turned the module on inside the administration area. Which page corresponds to that module? Thanks,

Well, it looks like I have stumped the masses! No one is posting which means either everyone is baffled, or that the solution is very simple and posted all over the message boards and people are ignoring this thread because I just haven't bothered to search. I don't think it is the latter, as I have searched and browsed through more threads on theses boards than you can imagine. I have also tried searching other forums and Google as well. It seems whatever this problem is, it has either never happened to anyone before, never been resolved, or if it has been resolved, the solution has not been posted publicly.

So if anyone is up for a challenge (there's got to be somebody), my company is willing to pay you for your time to fix the problem. This is a serious issue for us because it leaves every single customer on our web site wondering if their order has gone through. It is an unprofessional way to run a web site. It is times like this when the weakness of open source shows it face because there is no "support department" to turn to for a fix. We have been able to fix every issue in the past with the help of documentation, our own fiddling, or the help of these boards, but none of these has worked this time. So again, we will pay for a fix to this issue. Our only other solution at this point seems to be a complete reinstall, which is not desirable due to all the addons we have installed to our site, but we may have to proceed this way if no one out there is up for a challenge. Please post here if you think you can solve this currently unsolvable issue. And remember men (and women), they can take our lives, but they can never take our freedom. Thanks!

Have you tried replacing the files with the stadard osc files? The mods are still in the files you are using.

I tried doing it one file at a time to see if it was isolated to a particular modification, but that didn't work. The next step will be to go back and uninstall every addon we can, reverting back to as many of the original osc files as we can. Hopefully that will allow us to identify which addon is the problem, and then we can reinstall the other packages.

That would hurt.

Is this only happening on your test machine? If so, try deleting any cookies in the browser cahe that relate to your site. Probably called catalog.

did you find the solution on this? I had a similar problem happen to me. The checkout success page would not appear and it would re-direct back to the payment selection screen. I checked the code on checkout_process.php and found code

for me it was the check for the existence of the tep_session_is_registered('sendto') was the culprit. After taking it out everything is ok. But now I need to figure out why it is happening??? Any ideas?
