Hello

Someone just tried to become a member, when they finished filling the fields out in creating the account then click continue, it just takes you to the login in page  When you try and go back to the home page it sometimes takes you to the login page again. Also when someone is online, its not showing up in admin in whos online, only sometimes.

I have no idea, how long its been like that so I dont know what I may have done to cause it to do this. The only reason I found out was because someone notified me of havin trouble signing up! Thank god, they did.

Your help would be much appreciated,

Thanks

Only thing I can think of is if it's only one person it could be something in the way they have there browser setup. Try asking them to try again using a different computer on another network like a friends and see if it happens again.

I didnt think of that, I shall do that & see what happens, (I tried a few times & it wouldnt let me, yet it worked for you) I just tried it again and it did work for me this time. I will do as you suggested and pass on the suggestion.

Thanks for the tip Bob

It says Configuration--> settings --> Check IP adress set to False. Mine is set to True (Ive never had a problem with it until today when that person tried to sign up & then myself, yet I can sign up fine now) Ill just get that person to try Bobs suggestion see what happens. I'll also pop on over to see the latest update for the SEO as well, see how that goes. Hopefully that will fix it.

Thanks for your tip as well oschellas much appreciated

Hello Ruth,

I just created an account with one item in my cart. What I noticed was the prompt for a cookie when I entered the site. My browser asks me to accept cookies before they are allowed. So I am guessing you have force cookie use on your site. If a customer does not accept cookies, then they will have problems logging in and filling their cart.

G'day Tim,

I have the force cookie option set to False. Are you talking about that little pop up you get that states "This page contains secure & non secure ect...."?

It wasn't the secure, nonsecure thing. On the very first page of your site, a privacy box pops up and says:

"the website shoppinginurpjs.com has requested to save a file on your computer called a cookie...."

I changed my settings to block your cookies and I was still able to add several items and go through checkout. I did not click on the last page.

So maybe I was way off....

So what are you saying, is it my site being difficult or you just had the wrong settings? This is a bit tricky, getting a bit confusing.
