Guest
Having been 'away' from the internet for some years, I have just fumbled through my first osCommerce / PHP experience and come up with www.dotlemon.com I'm more of a pictures and words sort of person, and feel like a real idiot in the presence of all this coding knowledge. One thing I keep encountering is the need to be search engine friendly, and to use the right kind of hierarchies in the site. Am I focusing too much on the in-site experience being 'different' and too little on respecting the terminology which optimizes the site for search engines to, not only be my friend, but embark on a long term deep and meaningful relationship. Any feedback muchly appreciated. Paul

bobbins
Hi, It told ages to load and when I looked at the images they are 300k in size for thumbnails. You need a image solution that has s/m/l images OR the thumbnail cache installing. On the product screen I would make the image larger to fill the gaps. Also get a HTML editor for the product text so you can put nice formatting for bullets, etc. like this http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...all/search,html Sean

You need a image solution that has s/m/l images OR the thumbnail cache installing. When I create a new product, I simply browse to the image (which is around 50k - 450 x 450 pixels) and select it. Am I missing something out of the process. I assumed the publishing process translated the image into a much smaller thumbnail as a matter of course. No ? On the product screen I would make the image larger to fill the gaps. Also get a HTML editor for the product text so you can put nice formatting for bullets, etc. like this http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...all/search,html Sean Thanks for that Sean, I don't use FireFox so don't need that capability. Would you say the above contribution is still the best one to opt for, or do you know any others with similar, or better, features. Thanks again. Only 1 file to modify and it seems to work a treat... http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...matic+thumbnail
