New Install with SSL- missing graphics and 404 errors

I did a clean install with the current package and the Register Globals 1.5 patch. It all seemed to go fine but I'm missing graphics on the main page when its under https (SSL) and the login / register pages are misbeahaving too.

Secured: https://www.russmodernbass.net/~russmode/catalog/

Unsecured: http://www.russmodernbass.net/~russmode/catalog/

As you can see..soem things are misbehaving. I tried a search for help but overall the information in the forums is scattered and I couldnt discern whats relevant and whats not. Short of a "trial and error" I'm hopeful someone can clue me in as where to go or what to do here.

Thanks Brett

PS It also reports:Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/russmode/public_html/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I tried chmoding it using all the variations possible but the error persisted.

Your shared ssl cert is a joke. It is a self-signed certificate (meaning it is not "Trusted"), and is both Issued To and Issued By box158.bluehost.com

You'll have to ask them for the correct shared ssl pathway - but in my opinion, a self-signed certificate is not even worth bothering with.

Will changing that fix any of the problems or are you commenting mearly on the state of the SSL?
