Hello

This is all Greek to me. I have never even heard of PHPMYADMIN, nor know what it does. I have a Dreamweaver site with a 3rd party cart that is terrible- 70% cart abandoment ratio. This stuff is all over my head- I statically create my Dreamwever site and do a lot of cut & paste when posting products. Would anyone be willing to get on the phone with my and try to help me walk through the set-up procedure? My email is [email protected] and would really appreciate some help explaing and setting this operation up?

Thanks in advance

Hello

The Dreamweaver Site Has a Terrible Shopping Cart Hosted By a 3rd Party. I thought I would Try the OSCommerce Solution. However, I do want to keep the new domain and sub domain pages the same names as our existing site- we get about 15, 000 visitors a month. Hence, I went to try to install this and it is mostly beyond my knowledge. I copied the Catlog Folder from my hard drive to the FTP site. However, I was lost when it stated to create the data base with PHPMYADMIN. Also, I went to the FTP site, clicked on the catlaog folder, the install folder, and the install.php link and a page on my computer opened up that stated, <?php

require('templates/main_page.php');

?>

But nothing else happened. . .

there is a good tutorial here for phpmyadmin

http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=180384

And you can bypass the auto-install and intstall osc manually. FTP the files use phpmyadmin to upload the database. The only files you should need to change are the 2 configure.php files to match your server settings. There are threads in the tips and tricks forum that provide lots of info about it.

if you opened install.php and it showed you that it means you don't have php support

Opening the files via FTP is not the same as seeing the text in the browser when browsing to the domain - so PHP may be installed.
