Changing the index.php page to intro.php

An easy way of doing this is to chnage intro.php to index.php, and change the original indxe.php to, say, real-index.php, then you call the real-index.php from (flash) index.php if that's the case. You may also need to update the filenames.php to reflect this change (FILENAME_DEFAULT should now be real-index.php, for example).

It would be better to edit index.php and put your intro instead of TEXT_MAIN.

<?php
 } else { // default page
?>
<td width="100%" valign="top"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
  <tr>
	<td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
	  <tr>
		<td class="pageHeading"><?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></td>
		<td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'table_background_default.gif', HEADING_TITLE, HEADING_IMAGE_WIDTH, HEADING_IMAGE_HEIGHT); ?></td>
	  </tr>
	</table></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
	<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
	<td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
	  <tr>
		<td class="main"><?php echo tep_customer_greeting(); ?></td>
	  </tr>
	  <tr>
		<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>
	  </tr>
	  <tr>
		<td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_MAIN; ?></td>
	  </tr>
	  <tr>
		<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>
	  </tr>
	  <tr>
		<td><?php include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_NEW_PRODUCTS); ?></td>
	  </tr>
<?php
include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_UPCOMING_PRODUCTS);
?>
	</table></td>
  </tr>
</table></td>
<?php
 }
?>

  • 3 weeks later...
Hi All,

I have a small flash page that needs to be loaded as soon as a user accesses the site......

for example...

when user goes to http://www.mystore.com, they will be taken to http://www.mystore.com/intro.php instead of http://www.mystore.com/index.php

Does anybody know how to do this?

Thanks in advance

Bruce

I have created an intro page: index.html with a link to index.php. The index.html is a copy frm the view page source of the php file.
