delaen
I might just be overlooking something, but I searched on the board and can't find an answer for this. Is there a way to close the store so users can still browse all the products, but can't actually place an order? And have it display a "We're Closed" type of message in the header of every page? My site is only open until 1am (We're doing one hour home delivery), and this would be very helpful. Does anything like this exist? Thanks. Ajeh
Not an easy way ... If I get time and finish an add-on I am working on, you will be able to close it with a change of a switch to either Shut the store complete ... Shut down the purchasing but show all prices ... ie Show Case Shut down the purchasing and hide all prices ... ie Show Room Open the store back up ... ie A Store
delaen
Wow, that would be perfect. Hopefully you get some free time :)

Arcadiauk
We use the BTS contribution that includes a switch that allows you to close the shop for maintenance or other reasons. The downside to this was..... whilst it was offline, Google decided to start indexing us again and changed what used to be good descriptive links in google search to "This website is closed for maintence". It took about a week to re-reference us with the correct information again. If you rely on google for people to find you then please be aware of this problem. Guest
Ok thanks for that .. is it hard to install the BTS contribution ?? i am new to php and oscommerce and dont think a can do it so therfor i ask.
Arcadiauk
BTS is very easy to install over the top of a fresh install of oscommerce but you have to take care when you install some other contributions especially QTPRO (extra attributes). It is not something you can really install if your shop is modified already. I'm sure there are easier ways to close your shop though, have you searched the contributions recently?
