Order the $20 one from godaddy. It is simply a waste of money to pay more than that.

Please have a look here do u think if present SSL is any good.

I am thinking to chose between comode or thawte, both have nearly same price.

Because I want to use Google checkout as payment option , google checkout have a list of ssl certificate they accept, and Comode is not in their list.

======================================

quote from checkout.google.com

=======================================

What SSL certificates does Google Checkout accept?

Google Checkout currently accepts an SSL certificate whose root certificate is from any of the following Certificate Authorities (CA):

* AddTrust External CA Root

* AddTrust Qualified CA

* AddTrust Class 1 CA Root

* AAA Certificate Services - Comodo CA Limited

* Trusted Certificate Services - Comodo CA Limited

* Secure Certificate Services - Comodo CA Limited

* Baltimore CyberTrust Root

* Baltimore CyberTrust Code Signing Root

* Entrust.net Client CA

* Entrust.net Secure Server CA

* Entrust.net CA (2048)

* Equifax Secure Global eBusiness CA-1

* Equifax Secure eBusiness CA-2

* Equifax Secure eBusiness CA-1

* Equifax Secure CA

* GeoTrust Global CA

* Go Daddy Class 2 CA

* GTE CyberTrust Root

* GTE CyberTrust Global Root

* GTE CyberTrust Root 5

* Secure Server CA - RSA Data Security, Inc.

* Starfield Class 2 CA

* Thawte Personal Basic CA

* Thawte Personal Premium CA

* Thawte Premium Server CA

* Thawte Server CA

* Thawte Personal Freemail CA

* UTN-USERFirst-Object

* UTN - DATACorp S C

* UTN-USERFirst-Client Authentication and Email

* UTN-USERFirst-Hardware

* ValiCert Class 2 Policy Validation Authority

* VeriSign Trust Network - Class 3 Public Primary CA - G2

* VeriSign Class 2 Public Primary CA - G3

* VeriSign Trust Network - Class 2 Public Primary CA - G2

* VeriSign Class 1 Public Primary CA - G3

* Class 3 Public Primary CA - VeriSign, Inc.

* Class 1 Public Primary CA - G2 - VeriSign, Inc.

* Class 2 Public Primary CA - VeriSign, Inc.

* Class 1 Public Primary CA - VeriSign, Inc.

* VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary CA - G3

If you are currently developing in the sandbox environment but are not seeing callbacks to your HTTPS callback URL, you can use HTTP in the callback URL until you begin integrating into production

The certificate will work fine with godaddy, as will all of the popular certificates. It is important to realize that when you purchase a certificate, you are doing so to tell your customers that their data is protected. They don't care, for the most part, what certificate you have. Wouldn't even know how to find out if they did, most likely. All they know to do is to look for https and/or the lock. Once they see that, nothing else matters to them. You could pay $5,000 for a top of the line Verisign certificate but the differences between it and godaddy's $20 one wouldn't make one bit of difference to the majority of visitors to your site. As for the lower cost ones, the actual certs are all made by a handful of companies, which resell them places like godaddy. So, in many cases, the $90 you pay for a cert at one place is the exact cert you get from godady for $20. Like I said - it is simply a waste to spend more, in my opinion, of course.

It means there is a non-secure (http) link on the page. It will be a link to an external site. If you have analytics code installed, for example, that will cause it.

If you do not know Analytic code, then chances are you do not have them on your site/pages, as these will need to be added by you manually or by someone who you may hire/ask to do your site. There also otyer reasons such as external images/ads tha would cause the mixed content warning msg. In IE, you could get rid of this msg by setting the display mixed contents to true but problem is your customers wont do it. Maybe a link to your site posted here would help to tell by an experienced member what actually causes it.

1. the secuer/unsecure issue: may be caused by the flash contents;

2. the site is more troublesome then you thought:

a) in opera v9.0 it shows this:

The certificate for "www.zeeshop.co.uk" is signed by the unknown Certificate Authority "StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Free CA". It is not possible to verify that this is a valid certificate

- The certificate for "StartCom Class 1 Primary Intermediate Free CA" is signed by the unknown Certificate Authority "Free SSL Certification Authority". It is not possible to verify that this is a valid certificate

- The root certificate from "Free SSL Certification Authority" is not known to Opera. Opera cannot decide if this certificate can be trusted.

in both IE6: it says - this cert can not be verified up to a trustedn cert authority (not exact words), and IE7: it simply refuses to display the site, saying There is a problem with this websites security cert, and recommends to close this website;

c) in FF v1.5 and V2.0, both show OK, problem is your customers are more likely to use an IE browser.

Always be careful when choosing/installing an SSL cert, and in fact a good shared SSL may not be as bad as you thought they were given the problem shown above.

..

what you experiencing here highlights the problem with a 'dodge' SSL cert (by that I mean one that not recognised by most browsers that are on the market). It all depends on the user brpwser settings, whether they have it installed on the pc/browser, etc. With a good SSL cert (not necessarily expensive) including a good shared SSL, you won't get this sort of problems/warning msgs. the main drawback with a shared SSL is its speed but if your siite does not have hugh amount of traffic and you are with a good host, this is not a problem.
