dtvtogo Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Hi, I am new here and this is my first post I am looking for feedback on our store. We paid someone to design our website and set up our oscommerce site, we were unhappy with the finished product we got from our designer so we are tring to make the site more "visually appealing" ourselves (which has been an learning experience). Anyways check out our site and let me know what you think, good or bad. We are getting alot of hits but only a few sales. I would like to add more to the page, but I modified what I knew how too, I'm affraid to mess something up. http://www.signalsunlimited.com/store/catalog/
dtvtogo Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 I just got done adding some things and really need some insight from an oscommerce expert... Any input, comments, or suggestions appreciated!
oschellas Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Loading is a little slow, I would opt to install a on the fly thumbnail contributions. Layout looks professional!

Thanks for your review, I will look into adding that contribution, I am just now getting to the point of learning how to add stuff like that.
dtvtogo Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 Anyone else have a second to review our store? Thanks in advance.
ErollorD Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 add clean links and meta tags and you will be fine
Guest Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Anyone else have a second to review our store? Thanks in advance. I'g get rid of those drop shadows on your thumbnails. Also, definitely use a thumbnail contribution like imagemagik. The watermarks look kind of tacky too ( I don't think anyone will steal those pictures), just my opinion though. Other than that, you're off to a good start.
dtvtogo Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 I just install the dynamic meta tag contribution, should that do the trick for the meta tags? http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...earch,meta+tags Also added a new button set. Next is the tumbnail contributions.
dtvtogo Posted May 16, 2007 Author Posted May 16, 2007 Can someone test my printable catalog, it doesn't work on my end and wanted someone else to see if they are getting the same results. Thanks in advance.
sgolds Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Your site is soooo slow, if I was a customer, I would give up and go somewhere else. And no, your printable catalog doesn't work. Why is it going to a different domain?
invasi0n Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Hi, This might improve your website's speed. Also, you can find on google few other tricks to speed it up.
madcrazygirl Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Quick glance only: Site loaded quickly for me but then I have fast broadband Powered by osCommerce! - yes we have to have this on our sites but not usually as part of our store intro! Move to bottom of page As most customers will have no idea what oscommerce is then they will think your aerials are powered by this :-) I also really find the shadows distracting on your pics 1 easy to use site - shouldn't this be 'one easy to use site' ? Shipping Page: 'Shipping fees are determined on each item during the checkout' - can you give a guide? First thing I do when shopping is visit the shipping page first to make sure I am not going to waste my time. I am going to check if you ship to me and how much. If I cannot find this information I will move onto the next site....... hope of help and best wishes crazy
awarner20 Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Your site loaded fast for me, and it looks pretty clean and navigable. 1. I like the drop shadow on the thumbnails. 2. I would remove the watermark though, it looks a bit unprofessional and I don't think it's necessary for the types of products you're carrying. 3. Printable catalog loaded the header of your page, but nothing else. Overall, I think it's great! We see our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It's our job every day to make every important aspect of the customer experience a little bit better. - Jeff Bezos
