Have you done this yet?

How Does SSL Work With OsCommerce?

The workings of SSL with osCommerce are quite straightforward. Once your SSL is installed, you set the configuration path for https:// in catalog/includes/configure.php to enable SSL and the code takes care of the rest.

// Define the webserver and path parameters

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)

// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.yourdomain.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://yourdomain.com'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?

define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.yourdomain.com');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'yourdomain.com');

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

if at first you do succeed...try not to look surprised!

The problem is in the configure.php file. See my signature for the fix.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for the reply, I tried to do what you suggested but unfortunately the site looked funny, all the border etc dissappeared.

here is the code, please suggest where exactly I need to make an amend

The only change that should have been made was to remove a space or two. If the look of your shop changed, then something else was removed that shouldn't have been. You should try it again, being careful only to remove extra spaces.

Sorry but I don't understand what you mean, can you please point it out to me. I am a bit new to this and not quite with it.

The end of the file should

?>

If there is one space after that, it can cause this problem. You need to remove that one space (or five) and nothing else.
