Hello!

Apologies - I know there has been a wealth of posts around email but I have been digging around and cannot find an answer to my issue.

I have an osCommerce site running on a shared virtual Linux server and am using the SENDMAIL option for emails. The site has been running for a few months now.

We have an issue in that some of our customers are not recieving emails - and it seems to be only on Hotmail accounts - I have tried several different email addresses all work apart from emails to my Hotmail account ?!?!??!!

Help please !!!!!

Sorry I have been wracking my brain on this all night - it seems a wider issue with SENDMAIL itself and how mail is sent, I am struggling because there seems to be so much information on this and I am struggling wading through this.

Please h e l p !

I have seen this error before my suggestion is try outputing the email to a textfile before sending it see if you find any "\r\n"s in there, if so replace them with "\n" and try sending again.

Right - I am giving up for tonight, I suspect it is an ISP issue from what I have read - possibly SPF related as I don't have an SPF record ?!??! :blink:

This is a rejection note from my ISP (I think Easily might have Marvin working behind the scenes!) ;

Sorry - are there any SPF geniuses out there?

I believe I need my ISP to add the following SPF record;

www.believeinfairies.co.uk. IN TXT "v=spf1 a ptr ~all"

Can someone please tell me if my voice is sounding muffled and I should stand up when talking? :unsure:

Thanks,

I am having the same problem with my site. After some investigation it appears that Hotmail have updated their email filters and this has caused no end of trouble to people/companies. There is a way to get it to work however. Pay a fee to have email delivered to Hotmail. Ridiculous!! I have since advised people to not use hotmail but use googlemail and yahoo as these work fine with my site.

Ah, the world wide web. What a wonderful place.

You may find that the issue is that Hotmail requires a reverse DNS entry back to you server.

I got around this issue by having a statement on both my contact us and create account pages by asking if MSN emails could NOT be used or my website emails accepted in their MSN/hotmail accounts.

I hope this can help. It certainly worked for me and no doubt saved me oodles of time with less bald patches.
