Shipping Rates

Hi

I have a store that will be used to purchase goods for delivery to zones around the world (USA, UK, India, Rest of Wrold)

The products for delivery to each of those zones will have different shipping rates.

Books to say India will have different rate applied to the same book that is being shipped to USA.

Similarly, DVD/CD to India will have different rate dependent on the delivery region.

Just to make things more complicated (!) the shipping will be simialr to Amazon - a standard rate of say, 4.95 per order, plus 2.50 per item on top.

Can anyone please suggest the best way to configure the store to allow for these different rates.

I am not sure whether zones, or regions or what will work to do this?

Thanks

My understanding is you use the shipping tables.

for this to work your products need a weight.

For the DVD's I sell each product is weighted as 1, you can weight your products differently to give different postage costs, in my weights below a product or products of a 3 weighting will cost £5.00 uk and £10.50 internationally.

UK settings:-

In fact this works well for me, except that I want to offer some items with P&P included to the UK with a surcharge for remote areas and postage options for europe and the rest of the world.

it costs £15.99 for me to send a particular item to spain but £3.99 in the UK, I have included P&P on this item by giving it a product weight of zero.

Is there a way that I can have differet shipping tables for different product types, as this would make things easier and give the customer a fair postage system.

Ideally:-

Uk options Europe options International options

My DVD shipping table

My other products shipping Free +x +y

Thanks

Wayne

Whizzbits

Thanks for this - good idea !

How do you create more than one shipping table?

I can see clearly how it can be configured for say UK as per your example, but how do you get the other one for International rates?

Thanks
