Guest Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Please can someone help. I have entered all the details of my items onto my website including the prices, and when I preview the page everything is fine and as it should be. However, when I confirm and then view the page, the price is showing as 0. I have no idea how to rectify this, does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks
♥Vger Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Prices Display as Zero ---------------------- The most common cause of prices displaying as zero on your website, but showing up correctly in admin is a change to the default currency for the English language. There is a connection between languages and currencies in osCommerce. If you change the default currency for the English language to (for example) UK Pounds (symbol =GBP) then you also need to edit includes/languages/english.php and where you see 'USD' change it to 'GBP'. It was assumed when osCommerce was written that if your language was English then your currency would be US Dollars :D Vger
Masterbuilder Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Hi This advice was a great help for what I thought the problem was at first. The webpage now displays the same price as the admin screen. BUT! (Sorry!) When you follow the order process through and add the item to the cart, the item price in the cart still shows as £0.00, and not the price I have attached. How do you link the catalogue price to the order? Any help gratefully received - I'm struggling through without my webmaster, who has taken ill mid-project! Thanks
Guest Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Thanks for you help Vger. This has actually fixed the problem for me. However, when I place a test order, I get to the 'confirm order' stage and I get a message that says 'This recipient is currently unable to receive money.' I have tried to make it so that people can only pay for goods through Paypal, but I don't know how to make this bit work. Any ideas?

If you get this error when you are testing a payment through Paypal, it could be because there are some countries that Paypay will only TAKE money from and not allow anyone to give money to them. I found this out recently when helping a friend develop an osCommerce site for a country that is a PayPal "Take Money" only country. Although signing up with PayPal and setting the country default to the country of my friend it says that they can buy and sell - it is only when I try to buy something that I found out that can't happen. paypal don't advertise this, nor have they ansewred my questions about it. If this is what has happened to you, google Paypal CountryName and you may find it is a PayPal "Take Money Only" country.
Guest Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Thanks Kotitihaere, I don't know how but I have managed to get past this bit; but not very successfully. Now when I confirm the order it takes me to the Paypal page that requires a login with MY username and password, which obviously my customers will not have access to. Any ideas??? :-)
Guest Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 *LOL* - If you are testing that the Paypal works, then when you get to the PayPal page, Paypal wants the login for the CUSTOMER - not for you! *LOL* It will pay the email address that you set in the admin for Paypal - but you must have a Paypal account! Good Luck :)
