Advice for Contribution need please.

Hello,

 

Im in need of a login for price contribution. I have been looking in the contributions section & there is quite a few of them there, from what I can gather, you have to login to see all prices.

 

What I am needing is to be able to turn this off & on & I only want to apply the login rule for individual products, not all products. So some products will display the price & some will display the login for price.

 

Any ideas on which is the best mod to use for this?

We've done something similiar but for manufacturers. You can flag a manufacturer as needing to log in to see their prices. I guess if you don't use manufacturers at all in your site then that would work. You could create a fake manufacturer. But we don't have it as a contribution and its on a site with lots of code changes ...

 

But that is one way to do it... if you want to copy the idea.

 

Add a flag to manufacturer to say logintoseeprice true/false in the database.

Change Manufacturer in Admin to set flag.

Change any product price display to check manufacturer first.

If flag set don't show price and replace buy now button with login to see prices link to login page.

 

Clear as mud probably.
