Initec Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 My OSC store is having slow loading problems and I contacted my web hosting company to see if the problem was on their end with their database server. They responded that they checked for problems and found that my database tables weren't indexed properly and that I should re-index them. I've searched around this forum off and on for the last several days and I've uncovered numerous topics that state the databases should be indexed / re-indexed as general database maintainance. Unfortunately I haven't been able to run across any topics that explain in noob terms exactly how to index / re-index the database tables. I'm currently using a very vanilla install of OSC 2.2-ms2. The database sever is running MySQL 4.1.18 I have access to PHPmyAdmin on the web hosting server if that helps. Any step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated. Or a link to another topic if this is explained elsewhere and I've missed it. Thanks.
evalguy Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Have you checked the reference manual for mySql? The 4.1 reference manual is on their website here... http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/index.html -Neil.
