uploading products into multiple categories

Hi, I'm looking into the benefits of using the multiple product manager as many of our products should ideally be listed in more than one category.

 

I can easily update the existing stock to do this, but is there a simple way to automatically upload new stock into multiple categories so that they become linked products? There are concerns that this process is going to be too time-consuming to warrant the change but it would be better for customers if we can find a way.

 

I'm not responsible for uploading the new stock, but at present this is done through easy populate. Is there a simple and quick way to do what I want using Easy Populate?

 

Searched but haven't found any conclusive results, hope you can help.

OK, I think I've found one way, still would love some help on this.

 

If I download a stock list it seems that linked products are listed twice in the spreadsheet, the only difference being there category location.

 

Therefore if I manually add a second (or third) entry per product and list it in another place I think this will do it.

 

BUT, will it think that I have an extra product in stock for each entry that I make or because the product code is the same will it ignore that?
