Not going to secure server upon checkout

I have installed my SSL certificate and it's working properly. However when I test my cart and hit the checkout it does not go to https. Is there a setting in the admin that I'm missing?

have you got it set to true in your includes/configure.php file?

Thank you very much, that worked. Maybe you could shine a light on this, It's odd if I load the secure pages in the https directory they come up, but if I keep all my files in the http directory and nothing is the https directory I get the 404 missing page. I have another site that I made and it still goes to the secure pages with nothing in the https directory.

 

I could just put everything in the https directory but I rather keep everything in just the http directory

 

Any ideas
