adding a message board or adding pictures to right side of page

Hello,

 

I have 2 questions and any help will be greatly appreciated,

 

1. I have a website. www.kingsdigital.com that sells gsm phones, I need to make something that when a person opens to site a pop up or message or advertisment pops up on the top of the screen and says my message? please help

 

2. I see on alot of websites that people put advertisements and pictures on the right middle side of the site, how do I do that and which file do I need to edit?
