toadyyy Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Hi all, have been reading about Google Sitemaps and it's something we should definitely take advantage of. I wonder though of the performance differences of different ways of doing (if there are any differences in making a xml file from a site hierarchy). Specifically I have 1&1 as our host server people, and they have a Google Sitemap option of their own. You can do it as much as daily, and they index and submit the site for you! Would this be as good a solution as using for example Chemo's add-on, or subsequent versions? I have a sitemap contribution installed to have a sitemap page on the site itself (and the all products contibution) so I'm just wondering if it's worth adding any more? I guess the only advantage I can see is generating and submitting an xml sitemap to other engines than google (do people still use other engines LOL!). Anyways, any help or comments would be gratefully received Thank you for reading
Jack_mcs Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 If their sitemap generator can be ran automatically and it produces a full map of your shop, then there is probably no advantage of using one over the other.
