dprophit
Go to your admin pages and click on modules<<Payment and click the green dot for paypal. That will activate it. --- Denver Prophit Jr.
theMusicMan
Hi - I'm trying to do the same thing but on my Payment screen I see no entries under filename, installed or install/remove.... Where should I see the green dot? John John
Mr. Bagel
if paypal experts read this, this is what happens once the paypal merchant is added, at least on my site: www.mptuningusa.com - customer oreders, goes directly to paypal - I receive the paypal order, but it only has an amount and the customer's address. it doesn't contain any products in that email. - I check orders and nothing is there in the admin section. If there is a way to do this more efficiently and correctly please let me know. And yes, I will be moving to a real merchant within the next month but this is just something for the interim. pbreit
The cart details do not get transmitted to PayPal. You need to look up the order in OS Commerce. Patrick Breitenbach
Mr. Bagel
correct, that's how it should work but I've got nothing under orders, but several emails via paypal. that's the weird thing. =/
Guest
The problem is that a person that pays via paypal has to click on Continue after they pay on the paypal site to get back to your site in order for it to be written to the database (and it seems that the typical person that pays via Paypal is too stupid to understand that concept). Install the PaypalIPN contribution (or better yet drop Paypal altogether and go with a real payment processor).
Joy-Bay
My customers do the same stupid thing. I get payment but no order. I also have a little problem with Paypal and sales tax. I have tax turned on in paypal because I sell on eBay and customers there never pay tax so I have to keep that turned on so local customers pay tax. Now with that set and someone goes directly on our site www.joy-bay.com and pays with paypal, the site figures tax and passes it to paypal or not, when paypal gets the order, it taxes the whole total again. :( I can't turn tax off on my site cause then all the other forms of payment wouldn't be taxed either:( Does anybody have a solution for this other then getting a real merchant account? Or is there a merchant that doesn't fine you for not doing a certin minimum amount of business? I'm just starting out and really haven't been making money yet:( Still trying to find customers. Also is there a way to not tax certin local customers like resellers? I been just changing their state from FL to FX so they don't get taxed. Didn't know if there was a better way. I haven't seen a contribution for that yet. Thanks all, Mike Thanks, Mike & Joyce www.joy-bay.com

What I did was disable the sales tax on Paypal but enabled it on Ebay. Your listing allows you to charge sales tax for only one state (a problem if you have two taxable locations). So you let Ebay handle the taxing and it should resolve the double taxing.
