Bushmaster Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 How do you incorporate a merchant account into the credit card processing? Can this be done automatically? Look here to see if a contribution was made to use your merchant account. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions Quote
cori Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 I dont see anything there, how does the standard credit card processing work here. Does it just store the information and the owner has to run the card manually? Does anyone have details or experience with an osCommerce site accepting credit cards as its only payment? Quote

You normally have to install a module that suits the bank with whom you have the merchant account. You usually have to go through some sort of payment gateway so that you protect yourself if your site is hacked. You need to investigate what options suit you and you bank. Quote
cori Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks, actually I found a module that looks like it is for his merchant account. I hope I can get it to work ;) Quote
Klwl Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 are you referring to installing a module such as GRID merchant processing? Sorry am very new to OSCommenrce and im tryin to read as much about CC processing as I can get. :'( Quote
cori Posted April 14, 2007 Author Posted April 14, 2007 I am new to this too, I am unfamiliar with GRID processing. My customer has a store front and already has a merchant account he uses to process credit card payments. He wants to link his new online ordering to the same merchant account. That is what I am hoping this modue with his merchant account provider will do. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Quote
