Hey,

First I'd like to say hello to everyone since I am new here and an advanced thank you to those who make OS possible and can offer help to my problem.

I work for an offroad & diesel shop and we recently setup a website using osCommerce software. So far I have been very happy with how things are working. However, I'm running into an issue when it comes to shipping heavy items.

Right now, our website calculates shipping via UPS by adding the weights of all items in the shopping cart and calculating the shipping charge on that gross weight as if it were one package. However, the majority of the things we ship we be in separate boxes. So I would like our shipping calculator to find shipping charges for each item based on the weight of that one item. Is there a way to do that?

Again, thanks to anyone who can offer help. I'm learning as I go on this stuff.

Thanks,

B.A.D.

Hey,

Just bumping this back up to see if anyone can offer some feedback. It would definitely be appreciated.

Also, a while back I was browsing the contributions, and there was one to add drop down menu options within a product page. but for the life of me I can't find it again. anyone recall what the name of that contribution was??

Thanks,

FedEx Real Time Quotes ver 2.06 and above solved the heavy item / ship-seperately issue for me.

if you ship to mostly commercial, fedex is mostly cheaper too... contact a rep directly to set up a business account, negotiate rates, get approved, install the mod.
