justedee Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 In “Downloads” does this statement“Please make any necessary changes Maximum number of downloads Set the maximum number of downloads. 0 means no download authorized ” mean..... How many downloads I can put into my store? OR How many files a person can download after a purchase? Example, they pay for 1 download, but they can download 6 items. OR How many times they can download the same file? OR Not any of the above? Also, how does one actaully (step by step) change pub to 777? Where would I go to do this? Where would I type it? Thank you, ~eDee Ya, I'm a chick and I program! What of it?
zhexiang Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Maximum download means the number of times a person can download a particular files. Like my website, a person can download a template once within 7 days period. You can set how many times a person can download a file after purchasing. Once the maximum reached, the download link is removed from the customer account. You define what file a person can download after buying an item in product attribute. Got it? Reply me if you need help!

justedee Posted April 29, 2007 Author Posted April 29, 2007 Did you ever find out how to change pub to 777??? Its been driving me crazy!! thx Terry Well, yes and no. No one can give me instructions, because everyone in the world uses different ftp's. As I understand it, you have to change the go using you ftp. I open my ftp, and right click on the file I want to change. The only command that I see that MAY change the code is "Custom Command" I typed the numbers in there and hit enter. So I'm hopeful. I hope this helps you. ~eDee Ya, I'm a chick and I program! What of it?

bkellum Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Did you ever find out how to change pub to 777??? Its been driving me crazy!! thx Terry It depends upon whether you are hosted on a Windows or Unix server. The latter is simple by just using your FTP client and selecting CHMOD (each FTP client has its own way of doing CHMOD, you will need to check the documentation of the FTP client). Reply me if you need help! Hi!! You seem to know what you're talking about regarding downloads so i wonder if you can help me?? 1/ Is there a universal way to change the number of times a person can download a file? (I've a big problem - people with their media players configured to play web content automatically are losing their downloads because i have it set to 1 download on around 5000 files and its going to take forever to go back through and change them all manually one by one!) 2/ Mac users are receiving my Mp3 files as .php files and are manually having to rename them after download. looks really bad and I have no idea why this is happening. Can you help me?? thanks in advance Terry
