yhlee Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Hi ALL, There is a CONTACT US page for customer to send feedbacks. I wanted to enter my smtp address but I couldn't find anywhere to do it under the admin page-> My Stores and also Email Option. Question 1: Where can I enter the smtp server address? Question 2: I would like to separate the address to receive orders and also feedback. Meaning all feedbacks go to a email address whereas the orders go to sales email address. Is it possible? Question 3: Where do I set username and password for Admin Page? Many thanks! :D pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work

Guest Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I've been fighting this problem for the past two weeks, nothing I have done seems to work. I've modified all the settings in the admin page (SMTP, True to everything else), I've attempted to modify the email.php file (that didn't do a thing), I would have modified the php.ini file if I could find it, I've gone through every topic related to "email", I've contacted my webhost (onsmart.com, but they tell me that they are not blocking e-mails and that there shouldn't be a problem sending email) and I still can't get the email to send out from the site. The funny thing is if I go into the admin page and send a e-mail from the "send email to customer" I get it EVERYTIME, but the contact us page or any other section of the main site just will not send it out. It tells me that it goes through correctly but I never get it. I've even gone as far a moving the site to another location within the webhost, still nothing. At this point I'm thinking about hiring a company to fix the problem, but what will I learn about oscommerce if I do that. So if anyone has a solution or something that I have not tried PLEASE let me know!
fb4u Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 ... but the contact us page or any other section of the main site just will not send it out. It tells me that it goes through correctly but I never get it.... Hi will5717, not sure if this can help you. I had the similar problem you did (e.g. a email to the store via the 'Contact us' form says it is successful but the store only gets a blank email. I used a member contribution (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,901) -- "SMTP Authentication V1.2" and now we (the store) are getting non-blank emails. It has a readme.txt so that helps. I have another problem tho ... once that works, the Administration > Configuration > My Store > Send Extra Order Emails To .. has to be blank (as it says in the readme.txt file mentioned above). Otherwise the system has a system error. But with that field set to blank, when a customer orders, we don't get a notification email at all. If you have a solution to this (or anyone else? please?) .. please do let me know. good luck! ♥ ∞ ♥ ∞ ♥ ∞ ♥ ∞ ♥ ∞ ♥ ∞ ♥ ∞ ♥ ∞ ♥ Helena Netwebbing - lots of free, simple tutorials • shCREDO - articles to all things health-ful • JEM Library- articles and info. on jewelry making • ClearlyChosen - Swarovski, Sterling silver & more (osCommerce e-commerce store)
bpopelar Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 The SMTP Authentication contribution http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,901 has been updated to correctly support the "Send Extra Order Emails To" configuration parameter format documented in the Administration > Configuration > My Store The prior logic only supported a single extra email address in a bare format (e.g., [email protected]). The contribution now handles the comma separated format: Name 1 <email@address1>, Name 2 <email@address2> The SMTP Authentication contribution continues to support the prior bare format. There is an official support thread for the SMTP Authentication contribution at http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=274251 to post any additional questions directly related to SMTP authentication.
