beckysmith Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Can anyone help a poor girl in need? I am working on my new shopping site selling little gifts from the UK and I want to post to the following 3 zones only with the set prices for shipping: UK - Free Shipping Europe - ?3.50 shipping USA - ?7.00 shipping Therefore, I only have 3 Zones to ship too and have 3 different set prices. I'm forgetting about weight per package as the objects I am sending are quite small to send and I don't want the customer to be confused by this. I want to keep it simple! Can someone give me a step-by-step instruction on how to do this using OsCommerce 2.2? How do I get the zones working in 2.2 with these set prices for the 3 areas listed? I've read Osdocs and other forum messages - but they don't answer this question specifically. Please please please, any help is appreciated!!! Love, Becky Smith :xmas:
hobbzilla Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6395 Have a look at catalog/includes/modules/shipping/zones.php I think you will enjoy!
beckysmith Posted October 23, 2002 Author Posted October 23, 2002 Thank you! I got that working but the instructions confuse me when it comes to simply setting up a basic rate for each 3 zone as I need UK - Free Shipping Europe - ?3.50 shipping USA - ?7.00 shipping Now - all I see are things like 3:8.50,7:10.50,99:20.00 etc I'm really confused :( Sorry... How do I set these 3 zones with those 3 flat rates that I need? Love - Becky :)
beckysmith Posted October 25, 2002 Author Posted October 25, 2002 Does anyone know of a solution to this? I've managed to get the site working okay apart from this issue and I really would appreciate a step-by-step direction on how to set these values....
burt Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 give each of your products a weight of 1 go into your zones configuration and do: uk: 1000:0.00 eu: 1000:3.50 us: 1000:7.00 As no-one will buy 1000 of your products. See if that works for you
burt Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 give each of your products a weight of 1 Thinking about it, you probably won't need to do this bit. JUst the zones config in the input boxes.
beckysmith Posted October 25, 2002 Author Posted October 25, 2002 Thank you Burt! I will give that a go. I didn't know you could set EU for all the european countries! That does save a lot of time....
beckysmith Posted November 17, 2002 Author Posted November 17, 2002 Okay - I need some help on this now please as I've tried to get it to work over the past few weeks but it's not working at all. I've set in Modules > Shipping Modules > Zone Rates the things you kindly suggested: Enable Zones Method 1 Handling Fee 0 Zone 1 Countries UK Zone 1 Shipping Table 1000:0.00 Zone 2 Countries EU Zone 2 Shipping Table 1000:3.50 Zone 3 Countries US Zone 3 Shipping Table 1000:7.00 But when the person goes to pay it says the following: Zone Rates (No shipping available to the selected country) And puts in ?0.00 for the shipping and let's them get the shipping for free no matter where they are in the world! It just isn't setting the correct shipping amounts (I've logged in as a USA customer - but it also does the same for all of them including users with UK addresses.) Have I missed something to get this so badly wrong??! :(
