♥Vger Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Please correct me if I am wrong on this - but I thought that Protx were 'middle men', just integrating your website with an actual payment processing company? I know that they claim integration with the HSBC e-secure payment system - but then you end up paying HSBC their fees and fees to Protx on top of that. It's not an easy install, but if you are using the HSBC e-secure service then it would be better just to use the latest HSBC osCommerce module - available from here http://oscommerce.qadram.com/modules.php?n...wdownload&cid=4 Vger
ppollock Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Hi, Does anyone know whether or not this contrib works with the Protx VSP Server option. There are 4 options in Protx: VSP Form, VSP Server, VSP Direct & VSP Terminal. I've been looking at it and it seems to me that Protx VSP Server is the most secure. Any thoughts on that? Thanks Peter
ucfaceh Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I was wondering whether somebody could give me a 'walk though' of how to install ProtxDirect as I can't for the life of me get this to work. I know our server has Curl and OpenSSL installed so this is not the problem. I have installed the ProtxDirect script in includes and can make orders fine; i.e. I can enter cc and complete an order however, no order is documented in the protx_direct table and no order logged on Protx testing site. There doesn't seem to be any communication between checkout and Protx. I have been told by Protx that I need the PHPDirectKit installed on the server but I am not sure how to go about this, where do the files go? I can't even get debugging to work on the ProtxDirect script! Some guidance as to where the files go, how to set it up etc... would be greatly appreciated before I pull out all my hair. cheers, christian
Hkanaris Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Ok I've now got my Protx form working, the problem I had was caused by a single wrong character in the encrypted password, So if anyone else out there has a cart that works fine in test mode with testvendor but not with their detail then check and check and tripple check that the details for name and password is correct. The only problem I'm having is that the customer recieves an email from Protx saying:- You have bought "idealhandling" Which is my store name  I've spoke to Protx and they say "You will need to change the Description field you are sending in order to change this information. You send a description for every transaction which is generated by your website code." What part of the code deals with description and shouldn't the code grab the product names purchased and send that as a description if thats the case?? Hope someone can shed some light on this problem for me. Thank you for any help you may provide me with. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was just wondering wether you solved this problem as I am having the same issue where it says that the customer has purchased "my company name" also are you using pre-auth, as when I have this enabled it will not allow me to go to the payment pages i get the following error Transaction type not valid<!--VRTX:Transaction type not valid-->,VendorRegisterTx Failed<!--VRTX:Failed--> any ideas?
Hkanaris Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Has anyone installed protx form using deffered as opposed to Pre auth?

Thanks Peter I had this reply from Protx - "As far as I am aware OSCommerce only integrates with VSP Form and Direct, not VSP Server. If you have an SSL certificate, and you want to host the payment pages on your own secure server, then you will need to use our VSP Direct solution."
