How to get help?

How does one get help for OSCommerce. The forum here is silent to anything I submit and I could not find a support email. I am about ready to scrap this and go with a different cart where I can get at least a modicum of support.

My problem is that orders placed are simply NOT SHOWING UP either via admin or by interrogating the database. :(

3. Did you make any changes after installation?

I don't know which plugnpay you have installed but from the sounds of this post it your site is locked down and it can't access it then you will not have the info that you are looking for.

Not yet open for real business, but it is www.myeflea.com

2. Did you install properly?

I think so.

3. Did you make any changes after installation?

I added the plugnpay module and made that the only payment method by doing that in the admin screen

4. Did you try re-installing?

No.

looks to me like you've done ok so far, that's if you've skinned this yourself.

If you bought the skin off the shelf then anything could have changed, and I go back to the source.

If you are having specific problems you should be able to get a reply as long as you provide the right question.

You got to remember this is open source and although it's free - you still have to do lots of leg work yourself.

I suggest that if you don't want to do some digging and go on a steep learning cureve you should switch to a hosted and supported cart which will cost $$$$

I installed the one ofr OSCommerce without SSL. I do all the SSL stuff through PlugnPay. My site is not locked down. It was password protected (until release), but the PlugnPay module couldn't return to my site and OSCommerce so I unlocked it. If i buy something using OSCommerce and pay via PlugnPay, it returns to a screen where you have to click "Finished". It then goes to the home page. An email is sent to the purchaser and all looks great -- EXCEPT that an interrogation of the orders shows that no order was placed. If I go in via a direct interrogation of the MySQL database, I find that nothing is in the orders table.

Now there is one thing which POSSIBLY could be at the root of this. You tell me, please. I didn't do the install myself. When I look at the files that are at the site, I see that the ones that would normally (according to the documentation) be in a subdirectory called "catalog" are all in the top level. By these I mean checkout_shipping.php, etc. I had to change one line in the php module since it looked for the return script in that directory. So, I removed the subdirectory indication and then it pproceeded without obvious error. Am I on the right track here? If so, what should I look for?

No. The only payments are through PlugnPay and they are Visa and Mastercard.

==> I believe he used the downloaded version.

==> I know. I have worked with open source before and found that if I posted in a news group, I got answers rather quickly. I also provided answers to questions I could answer. What was frustrating was that with all the activity here, noone so much as posted a single response.

==> It looks like I may have to re-install the OSCommerce and then add in the PlugnPay module again.
