Guest Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Hi Guys Still cant get my head around accepting credit cards online. I am based in Ireland www.maka.ie and currently accept Cheque and paypal. I would like to accept credit cards but not sure how to tie this in with OSC. I can get a merchant account with my bank AIB. But how do I integrate this into my store. As AIB isnt an available module I guess I would need to create a new one but wouldnt know where to start on this. Or would I just process it as a telephone order. Ie custome inputs card details which are sent to me then I punch this into a terminal. We also have a card over here called Laser, a debit card a bit like switch, which I would also like to accept Not really sure which way to go on this. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mark
jasonabc Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 You need an ordinary merchant bank account first. You then need an online merchant account. Your bank usually sets this up for you - or you can use a financial services company like http://www.signaturecard.com/ (for example). Once you have these two, the last step is to get an account with a payment gateway. Authorize.net is a popular one. Again - whoever sets up your online merchant account should set this up for you. OSC works with a wide range of payment gateways. You just install the module in Admin and enter your account info. You are then all set to accept credit cards online. The money goes from Authorize.net into your online account and from there to your ordinary merchant account. The process is completely automated.
