Stock attibutes

I have been setting up a new store, and an interesting question came up. Is there way to track stock level on items with certain attibutes? For example, we sell shoes in different sizes. They can have attributes 'size'. Is there anyway to set up the items to only that 'size'=8 is out of stock, but we still have other sizes of the same item?
