adding meta tags

hi just wondering if this is the correct file, the index.php to add the meta tags?

 

If infact this is the correct file just where do you add the meta tags in, there are no tags at all in this file for example body,head tags, anyone know your intel would be helpful.

Meta tags go in the head section of the page so they can be added to that area of the index page. However, on a dynamic site like oscommerce, that will not do much good. The index file itself serves the purpose of three pages so the meta tags would not be correct for each of them. To do it correctly, you need to add one of the meta tags contributions, like the Header Tags Controller.
