adam_gardner Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Help! I've lost my admin password (it was automatically assigned by the installer) and now I can't login to my backend! I do have full access to the server, files & mysql database. I just need to know where to look! Thanks for your help! Adam
GemRock Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Admin pw is not stored in the database, unless you are referring to osc version 3 (alpha). They may be in a file called .htpasswd at the admin folder depending on your server setup. So deleting it would remove the forgotten pw. I found it though - htpasswd file in the admin area - regenerated a username and password & replaced the htpasswd file and it worked. For anyone with the same problem, find the htpasswd file. Download it to your computer and rename it from .htpasswd --> htpasswd.txt. Then replace the text in that file with your encrypted username & pass (do a google search for 'htpasswd file generator') and reupload to server. Now rename back to .htpasswd and you'll be off and running! DoA
